The importance of the initial meet & greet

At Penn Valley Paws, I believe that every dog is unique, with their own personality, preferences, and needs. That is why I place great importance on the initial meet and greet before a dog stays with me for day care or overnight boarding.

As the sole caregiver, I am committed to a safe, nurturing, and enjoyable home away from home. The visit is how we get there — for your dog, and for you.

  1. 01

    Temperament and behavior

I take time to observe your dog in a new environment: personality, socialization, and any triggers or anxieties. That knowledge becomes a plan for their actual stay.

  2. 02

    Introducing the house

Your dog can explore the play areas, sleeping spots, and backyard. A gradual first visit usually means a calmer drop-off later.

  3. 03

    Meeting Violet

Violet is my resident Beaglier. Watching the two of them together — in a controlled setting — tells me whether the household will feel harmonious.

  4. 04

    Trust with you

The visit is also for owners. We talk through routines, worries, and the small details that never fit in a form.

  5. 05

    A tailored stay

Feeding times, extra cuddles for a shy dog, more play for a high-energy one — the meet and greet is how those choices get made.
